Abrams Crushes Aston Martin

This is my last major project before graduating school.

I chose to do this because it allowed me to meet the criteria of the project (track a moving camera, and put a 3D object in the scene). And it allowed me to do the crushing car panels that I’ve wanted to do for a while.

Total work :
2.5-3 weeks modeling and textures.
20 Hours Animating.
5 hours getting the footage together and creating the HDRI for reflections and light, and camera tracking the footage.
3 days rendering.
30-50 minutes compositing.

Programs Used:
3D Studio Max 9
Boujou 3
Photoshop 7
After Effects 7

Awesome!I’m studying these things, too. As in, 3ds Max, HDRI development for lighting and reflections, HDR image-based lighting, etc. If I can ever create something that looks this cool, I’ll be really happy! I have only one minor criticism for this particular clip: sounds effects would have been a great addition! (I’m still giving it 5/5, though.)

Looks very real. Only in the end, where the tank’s suspension rocks I saw something odd, due to the movement being too fast and the lack of debris of the car’s glass.

Good job, you did a lot effort. But…where is the cannon’s shadow…? and the roof of this car looks a bit too thin.
    Good job, anyhow~
